Song Of The Day: Rory Wynne – Post Party Confusion

15 year old indie punk singer/songwriter Rory Wynne is to Manchester (or Mancunia as he calls it) what Alex Turner was to Sheffield in 2004. Like Turner pre Humbug, and more recently, Nottingham’s Jake Bugg, armed with an ear for the guitar and a brazen accent, Wynne is a punk poet of the people.

Post Party Confusion is a raw and blunt narration of a riotous underage house party. There’s a tremendous, uncontrollable riff in there that couldn’t be more Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not if it tried, but then he’s probably the only bona fide musician young enough to be able to say they grew up listening to that album and actually mean it.
